Hello.
Advise please how should I repair the broken neck. My friend tried to glue the head by himself but used bed glue and the head fell of again. The problem is that now I cannot fit it tightly on its place.

Well, for one thing - your pal used white glue. That is definitely the wrong glue.

Get as much of the glue off by scraping, then use warm water to get the rest of it off. You'll need to let the wood dry out, and carefully fit the broken pieces back together to insure a tight fit. Then use a yellow glue - like Titebond to glue it back up. You'll need to devise a clamping jig that holds the pieces together tightly while the glue sets, and probably need to clamp the parts so they don't move apart lengthwise. I would then rout two slots that bridge both pieces of the break, and glue in some splints to reinforce the break. Then clean up the glue, and touch up the finish.

It can be done with patience and a little thinking. Good luck.

Can you judge if this is a short grain failure or something else?
Can't tell what type of wood it is.

Hard to tell - especially with glue on the wood. If I knew the make, it would help. But, if I went out on a limb - i'd say it's Asian in origin.

If it is not a valuable guitar, you could soak the 2 ends in water and the glue would readily soften, turn rubbery, and you could pick it out of low spots, then try again.

What Chris said, especially the splines. There doesn't appear to be enough overlap to get a good glue joint. Harbor Freight sells a cheap pick set that is ideal for helping to remove the existing glue.

You can get the glue off with de-glue goo - http://www.de-gluegoo.com/. The stuff is amazing and I have not had it damage any of the wood I am using. Once it turns the glue to goo it will still take some work to get it out of the ends.

Just ask your dentist for some old picks - when they get old, they sterilize and package them, then set them aside. I have a couple dozen in the shop of various configurations accumulated over the years.

Now I have to remember to ask my dentist for old tools. But after all of the dental work I've had done, having the tools of the trade in my shop will be a little creepy.
